WA The Animal Farm

Dear Fellows,

Recently we have been living a lot of changes in our farm. First we were living with Mr. Johns, who was a human and we worked for his interest. But then, under the rule of old major we took the farm and we worked for us and we lived that time happy us a community. Suddenly old major died and the interest of us became the interest of one animal, his name is Napoleon.

Napoleon perverted our vision of the farm, I don't see the difference between Mr. John and Napoleon. Napoleon and the other pigs sleep in beds, they eat like humans and they drink whiskey too!. Those pigs are some useless and hypocrite leaders.

In this farm we have been killed if we think differently, do you remember wath happened with snowball, or the hens?, we cannot accept this, we must flee, we cannot fight against the dogs.

Do you remember our laws?, they were changed and you didn't notice it, they can kill us with an invented reason, they can let us work until we die, like boxer. Now they say that 4 legs good and 2 legs better, they are like humans!

We don't have too much time run away , so are you prepared to flee this night with me?, this farm is worth than a human farm, if we stay, our lives would be destinated to the pain, injustice and finally death. So think it please, I'm not like Napoleon , I want the best for us. Are you with me?

Rationale

The kite runner is a novel that happens in the Middle East and it is about a story of two childrens that are friends, but the problem is that one is a Pashtun, the important and dominating culture in Afghanistan and the other is a hazara, the servants of Pashtun. Then the Pashtun boy went to California with his dad, living his country and his friend.

My task have Amir as the protagonist writing a letter to his friend Hassan, from California to Afghanistan.

My propose in this task is to present are an alternative way of how the story can take a different final in the book.

In the letter the audience is Hassan, written in a semi-formal language, because they were friends but they didn't keep the touch so it was the first letter in years so that's the reason of a little formal language.

WA Letter

                                                                                                                                            15/07/1981
Dear Hassan,

How do you do?, I hope well. I write you from california, USA. This place is very different than Kabul, the people here don't wear turban and robe, this place doesn't have a rule of what yo have to wear. The people here only speaks english, it's very different than our language

The city is very different than Kabul, first of all the architecture of the city is very different, they use more windows in their houses and they have a lot of buildings in the city, this are like a house over another, but this have all the same style and are separated by floors, some buildings have only 4 floors and another have 27 floors. All the streets are made with concrete and some places are festinated for have trees and grass and some see saw and swings.

Here the life is very different and this country doesn't have an specific religion and they don't respect our hours of pray and here are few mosques.

The americans are friendly with us, they hate Russia too and they have been supporting the talibans with the fight the against Russia.

Here the comunity of muslims it's little, we aren't too much people and my dad and I we sell things in the flea market and I sell my books that I wrote, you know that I am a story teller and I hope you can read one of my stories some day. did you learn how to read or not yet?

I met a woman in the flea market, she's name is soraya, she is beautiful, smart and friendly. I fall in love and I know that is to early but I want to marry her.

I know that we don't see each other a lot time ago Hassan, but all of my live I've been hiding a secret.

Did you remember when we won the kite tournament? well, that day should be the greatest day of our lives, but when you went to catch the blue kite. I followed you and I saw you running from Assef and his friends and they catched you in the alley. You where against 3 and they gave you the possibility to run away and be safe, but for the cost of the blue kite. But for you it was more important to give me the kite than your security, because you knew how important was that for me.

That day I saw everything in the alley and I didn't do anything, I was in shock and I try to help you, but you know that I don't have the courage to be involve in a fight, you were who defend me when someone attacked me but I wasn't prepared.

I never forget what happened that day, all of my live I felt guilty and I want to be there again and change the things, but I've been hiding this from me.

I knew it was hard for you, but I want that you can forgive me, please.

Best regards
Amir

Activity 1.3 In Vitro Fertilization

Sarah: So did you think about the in vitro fertilization of the child?

Vittorio: In fact, I thinked a lot and I´m against

Sarah: But... why, we have everything to make it, we have the money, the resources , etc... please, tell me why you don´t want to do it.

Vittorio: Because, I think this is an unnatural process for make a child and I´m not sure making this, I know we can do it but...

Sarah: Hey Vittorio, I know that you aren´t sure about your decision, but I promess you are going to be fine saying "yes". We can choose the sex of our child, his eye colour, his hair colour, etc. It is a better way for having a child, please believe me.

Vittorio: I´m sorry, but I´m not agree with this. I think that is inappropriate and we doesn´t have the right to decide those things, I preffer the natural way and is an elitist form to have a child. Furthermore this metod is for the people whom can´t have childs.

Chile and New Zealand

In both countries we have some similarities and differences, in our culture, religion, habits, etc.
First of all the weather of New Zealand it is like the weather of the south of our country, so the agriculture it's like ours because the weather influences, they have like the same type of potato
and other products. They are one of the countries most dedicated to the livestock, they have sheep and cow, the same as Chile,

In our country the most important aborigine culture is the mapuche and in NZ is the Maori, but the
most important difference is how the society and the government accept this aborigines cultures. In New Zealand the Maori are respected by the society and they have influence in the politic, they have a political party and the people who is descendant from Maori are very proud of that. But in Chile our aborigine are discriminated by a part of the society and the government doesn't care too much about the situation of the mapuche and their problems.

A difference that is the mos important it is that the New Zealand was founded by the British empire and Chile was founded by the Spanish empire. this made a lot of differences in the habits, like the hobbies, sports, music, food habits, etc.

For example the sport more play in NZ is the rugby and in Chile is the soccer. For the New Zealanders the most important time to eat is the dinner, and in our culture is in the lunch time.

What is to be a New Zealander

The life of a New Zealander is very special and a little different than ours. In the common life They Have similarities. The father go to work and the children to the school, but here in New Zealand They have a mosaic of cultures, you can see different people everywhere from different cultures and religions. Here in New Zealand the people is open minded, They are more emphatic and They Have always respect to the others.
To be a New Zealander is a great experience, here We have to be more respectful, punctual, tide, clean and think in the others, Because the respect is essential in Their society.

Furthermore Their dinner is the Most Important time to eat in the day, Their breakfast and lunch is not too much important.

The New Zealander have a lot of abilities, in sports, music and academic issues. Very Important for They is very good to do what They are doing, So They practice a lot, after school and everyday of the week They Have Extra activities, like piano lessons, soccer practice, hockey practice, etc.

In the structure of Their family, the mother work for the house, take care how the children are going in the school and father works until the night.

Letter to fairtrade

                                                                                                                  18 of march, 2015

Dear Fillipo,

How do you do? I hope well. some days ago I met an important organization, this is an NGO called fairtrade, this is very famous in Europe, but no so much in Brasil. This organization helps por people to disadvantaged farmers like you, that do not have too many possibilities to comercialize their products with the public.

This is the moment when fairtrade appears, this NGO offers help to the producers like farmers, or the farmers can ask for help to fairtrade and they can establish some conexions between you and the people that you want them to buy your corn.

Fairtrade can help you to finance the school and the uniform of your 2 childrens and when you make a deal with fairtrade, they sell your product 10% more expensive tan the original Price that you put and they sell your product in an established shop in the city where you are. Your corn will be under the label of fairtrade, but if you think that the people will not buy the corn, because is a 10% more expensive, don´t be worried, as the people know that fairtrade is helping you.

I think this is a very good chance for you, because this NGO has the mission to help people like you and can solve the problema of where you can sell your product, the only difference is that it is a Little expensive, but you still earn the same, so think it!

Regards

Ignacio
