Google task

The correct use of Google depends on the people who work with it.

It's true this makse easier our search of knowledge, and we can know too many things in less time than in the past, this is a very effective tool that simplifies our lives, but there are people who use it not to increase their knowledge, just to do a homework faster or just because they are lazy, so people lose the interest in know.

Another case is that people search for some information but they don't use the time properly to search other websites to know about different points of view, making them one-sided opinions.

Furthermore, the children use the famous copy/paste, but the don't know this is a nocive way to learn, because they don't want to learn, don't investigate by themselves, only want to accomplish with their homeworks.

Nowadays, the people have lost interest in learning because Google gives us all the information we need to easily

WA The Animal Farm

Dear Fellows,

Recently we have been living a lot of changes in our farm. First we were living with Mr. Johns, who was a human and we worked for his interest. But then, under the rule of old major we took the farm and we worked for us and we lived that time happy us a community. Suddenly old major died and the interest of us became the interest of one animal, his name is Napoleon.

Napoleon perverted our vision of the farm, I don't see the difference between Mr. John and Napoleon. Napoleon and the other pigs sleep in beds, they eat like humans and they drink whiskey too!. Those pigs are some useless and hypocrite leaders.

In this farm we have been killed if we think differently, do you remember wath happened with snowball, or the hens?, we cannot accept this, we must flee, we cannot fight against the dogs.

Do you remember our laws?, they were changed and you didn't notice it, they can kill us with an invented reason, they can let us work until we die, like boxer. Now they say that 4 legs good and 2 legs better, they are like humans!

We don't have too much time run away , so are you prepared to flee this night with me?, this farm is worth than a human farm, if we stay, our lives would be destinated to the pain, injustice and finally death. So think it please, I'm not like Napoleon , I want the best for us. Are you with me?

Rationale

The kite runner is a novel that happens in the Middle East and it is about a story of two childrens that are friends, but the problem is that one is a Pashtun, the important and dominating culture in Afghanistan and the other is a hazara, the servants of Pashtun. Then the Pashtun boy went to California with his dad, living his country and his friend.

My task have Amir as the protagonist writing a letter to his friend Hassan, from California to Afghanistan.

My propose in this task is to present are an alternative way of how the story can take a different final in the book.

In the letter the audience is Hassan, written in a semi-formal language, because they were friends but they didn't keep the touch so it was the first letter in years so that's the reason of a little formal language.

WA Letter

                                                                                                                                            15/07/1981
Dear Hassan,

How do you do?, I hope well. I write you from california, USA. This place is very different than Kabul, the people here don't wear turban and robe, this place doesn't have a rule of what yo have to wear. The people here only speaks english, it's very different than our language

The city is very different than Kabul, first of all the architecture of the city is very different, they use more windows in their houses and they have a lot of buildings in the city, this are like a house over another, but this have all the same style and are separated by floors, some buildings have only 4 floors and another have 27 floors. All the streets are made with concrete and some places are festinated for have trees and grass and some see saw and swings.

Here the life is very different and this country doesn't have an specific religion and they don't respect our hours of pray and here are few mosques.

The americans are friendly with us, they hate Russia too and they have been supporting the talibans with the fight the against Russia.

Here the comunity of muslims it's little, we aren't too much people and my dad and I we sell things in the flea market and I sell my books that I wrote, you know that I am a story teller and I hope you can read one of my stories some day. did you learn how to read or not yet?

I met a woman in the flea market, she's name is soraya, she is beautiful, smart and friendly. I fall in love and I know that is to early but I want to marry her.

I know that we don't see each other a lot time ago Hassan, but all of my live I've been hiding a secret.

Did you remember when we won the kite tournament? well, that day should be the greatest day of our lives, but when you went to catch the blue kite. I followed you and I saw you running from Assef and his friends and they catched you in the alley. You where against 3 and they gave you the possibility to run away and be safe, but for the cost of the blue kite. But for you it was more important to give me the kite than your security, because you knew how important was that for me.

That day I saw everything in the alley and I didn't do anything, I was in shock and I try to help you, but you know that I don't have the courage to be involve in a fight, you were who defend me when someone attacked me but I wasn't prepared.

I never forget what happened that day, all of my live I felt guilty and I want to be there again and change the things, but I've been hiding this from me.

I knew it was hard for you, but I want that you can forgive me, please.

Best regards
Amir

Activity 1.3 In Vitro Fertilization

Sarah: So did you think about the in vitro fertilization of the child?

Vittorio: In fact, I thinked a lot and I´m against

Sarah: But... why, we have everything to make it, we have the money, the resources , etc... please, tell me why you don´t want to do it.

Vittorio: Because, I think this is an unnatural process for make a child and I´m not sure making this, I know we can do it but...

Sarah: Hey Vittorio, I know that you aren´t sure about your decision, but I promess you are going to be fine saying "yes". We can choose the sex of our child, his eye colour, his hair colour, etc. It is a better way for having a child, please believe me.

Vittorio: I´m sorry, but I´m not agree with this. I think that is inappropriate and we doesn´t have the right to decide those things, I preffer the natural way and is an elitist form to have a child. Furthermore this metod is for the people whom can´t have childs.

Chile and New Zealand

In both countries we have some similarities and differences, in our culture, religion, habits, etc.
First of all the weather of New Zealand it is like the weather of the south of our country, so the agriculture it's like ours because the weather influences, they have like the same type of potato
and other products. They are one of the countries most dedicated to the livestock, they have sheep and cow, the same as Chile,

In our country the most important aborigine culture is the mapuche and in NZ is the Maori, but the
most important difference is how the society and the government accept this aborigines cultures. In New Zealand the Maori are respected by the society and they have influence in the politic, they have a political party and the people who is descendant from Maori are very proud of that. But in Chile our aborigine are discriminated by a part of the society and the government doesn't care too much about the situation of the mapuche and their problems.

A difference that is the mos important it is that the New Zealand was founded by the British empire and Chile was founded by the Spanish empire. this made a lot of differences in the habits, like the hobbies, sports, music, food habits, etc.

For example the sport more play in NZ is the rugby and in Chile is the soccer. For the New Zealanders the most important time to eat is the dinner, and in our culture is in the lunch time.

What is to be a New Zealander

The life of a New Zealander is very special and a little different than ours. In the common life They Have similarities. The father go to work and the children to the school, but here in New Zealand They have a mosaic of cultures, you can see different people everywhere from different cultures and religions. Here in New Zealand the people is open minded, They are more emphatic and They Have always respect to the others.
To be a New Zealander is a great experience, here We have to be more respectful, punctual, tide, clean and think in the others, Because the respect is essential in Their society.

Furthermore Their dinner is the Most Important time to eat in the day, Their breakfast and lunch is not too much important.

The New Zealander have a lot of abilities, in sports, music and academic issues. Very Important for They is very good to do what They are doing, So They practice a lot, after school and everyday of the week They Have Extra activities, like piano lessons, soccer practice, hockey practice, etc.

In the structure of Their family, the mother work for the house, take care how the children are going in the school and father works until the night.

Letter to fairtrade

                                                                                                                  18 of march, 2015

Dear Fillipo,

How do you do? I hope well. some days ago I met an important organization, this is an NGO called fairtrade, this is very famous in Europe, but no so much in Brasil. This organization helps por people to disadvantaged farmers like you, that do not have too many possibilities to comercialize their products with the public.

This is the moment when fairtrade appears, this NGO offers help to the producers like farmers, or the farmers can ask for help to fairtrade and they can establish some conexions between you and the people that you want them to buy your corn.

Fairtrade can help you to finance the school and the uniform of your 2 childrens and when you make a deal with fairtrade, they sell your product 10% more expensive tan the original Price that you put and they sell your product in an established shop in the city where you are. Your corn will be under the label of fairtrade, but if you think that the people will not buy the corn, because is a 10% more expensive, don´t be worried, as the people know that fairtrade is helping you.

I think this is a very good chance for you, because this NGO has the mission to help people like you and can solve the problema of where you can sell your product, the only difference is that it is a Little expensive, but you still earn the same, so think it!

Regards

Ignacio

Invictus, Movie Review

Invictus (2009)
MPAA Rating: p613
Reviewed by Ignacio Herrera M on 30/10/2014
Genre: Sports drama
With: Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman
Directed by: Clint Eastwood
Distribuitor: Warner Bros

Invictus is one of the most movies that Clint Eastwood Had done in his career of a movie director. Invictus is a movie that the principal theme is how the rugby can unify the people, missing their differences and making one population.

The writer and the director inspired in the gloomy 90s of South Africa. When Nelson Mandela takes office as presidentof South Africa after having been in jail and how Mandela triggered the anti racism in South Africa when the white people segregate the population of coloured people. In the particular case of rugby the produce that the coloured people prefer the foreing rugby teams than the national  team of rugby, the springboks. In this particular case rugby plays an important role in the population, because this competition that seems petty can unify or separate a complete country.

When Mandela assumes the charge of president of South Africa , he decides to finish with the racism. In the movie at the beggining, one of the scenes when Mandela enters to to the national palace, all the withe workers were preparing their stuff because they, think, that the president will fire them because they were withe. When Mandela saw the people preparing the stuff he called to his secretary because he wants to do a meeting with all the workers asking why they were preparing their stuff, because he doesn't fired them. The other ocassion was when Mandela enters to the rugby pitch to wish good luck to the players, but he only saw one coloured player in South Africa team. Mandela knows that the racism was in the sport too. But he saw the possibility to unify the country with the world cup of rugby that would be played weeks later in South Africa and this will be something in common between the withe and coloured population. Then the president and Francois Piennar worked together to make a motivation for the Springboks and make them understand how important  what was they were doing for their country.

I recommend you to see this movie because the actors were great, particulary Morgan Freeman as the president Mandela and the another that do it great was Matt Damon as the captain of the Sprinboks. The other thing I like from this movie was the message that gives, because sports, in this particular case rugby, can unify the people taking away the differences like the color of th skin, religion and culture.

Letter to a Friend

23/10/2014
Dear Nicolas,
Hello! how have you been?, I hope you have been ok. In my case I'm not fine, last week I was playing basketball with some friends and I was kicked by Matias. When I was back on my feet I couldn't walk and Matias took me to the hospital, then after 1 1/2 hours of waiting, I was tested with an x-ray machine and he said that I have to rest for 2 weeks, because my meniscus had been broken. I have to go to the hospital to do the operation of meniscus, the doctors will take out the meniscus and then I have to use a support for the knee in the first week, and then I have to use it only if I do sports.

But it is not too bad, now I'm resting in my house, in my bed.
Best Regards
Your friend Ignacio

Global Warming, The Big Problem

Today the people don't care about the global warming. This problem affect to all of us and if we not work together against this problem it win affect our lifes and animals life. Global warming is the most significant environmental problem facing us today, some impacts are alrady happening like the ice melting in the Earth's poles, some animals and plants are in risk of extinction. In spite of this, other people believe that the global warming is not happening.

Firstly, the impacts of global warming are already happening. Some of this impacts are that the sea level rise became faster, and there is an answer for this, the ice of Earth poles and mountain glaciers are melting. In the world we only have 2 percent of freshwater and we can find it in rivers, lakes, mountains and also in the Earth poles. The problem about the melting of the Earth poles ice is that the fresh water became salad because this became one with the salad water of the oceans. We can transformate the salad water to freshwater, but this process is slow and also expensive.

Furthermore some plants and animals have been affected by the impacts of the global warming. According to Henrik Selin "a large fraction of plants and animals species are likely to be at an increased risk of extinction if global surface temperatures rise another 1.5 to 2.5  celcius. If we loss a 40 percent of plants, this will affect the animals and our trade of fruits and vegetables, this will have a destructive impact on ecosystem".

On the other hand, some people believe that global warming isn't true, and that it is not happening. They believe that the Earth is more resistant to climate changes and according to Jonathan Strickland and Ed Grabianowski "plants and animals will adapt to subtle shifts in wether patterns", and they think that anything catatrophic will happen.

In conclusion, the global warming produce the ice melting in the Earth pole that rise the sea level, changes habitat of the animals and plants and if they are in risk of extinction this will affect our ecosystem. If we want to stop this catastrophic future we have to work together and reduce our greenhouse gases emissions, because this gases destroy the atmosphere and the uv ray get through the Earth and produce the global warming

Global warming effects

Source 1:Some impacts from increasing temperatures are already happening.
  • Ice is melting worldwide, especially at the Earth’s poles. This includes mountain glaciers, ice sheets covering West Antarctica and Greenland, and Arctic sea ice.
  • Researcher Bill Fraser has tracked the decline of the Adélie penguins on Antarctica, where their numbers have fallen from 32,000 breeding pairs to 11,000 in 30 years.
  • Sea level rise became faster over the last century.
  • Some butterflies, foxes, and alpine plants have moved farther north or to higher, cooler areas.
  • Precipitation (rain and snowfall) has increased across the globe, on average.
  • Spruce bark beetles have boomed in Alaska thanks to 20 years of warm summers. The insects have chewed up 4 million acres of spruce trees

Source 2: A large fraction of plant and animal species are likely to be at an increased risk of extinction if global average surface temperatures rise another 1.5 to 2.5 °C (2.7 to 4.5 °F) by the year 2100. Species loss estimates climb to as much as 40 percent for a warming in excess of 4.5 °C (8.1 °F)—a level that could be reached in the IPCC’s higher emissions scenarios. A 40 percent extinction rate would likely lead to major changes in the food webs within ecosystems and have a destructive impact on ecosystem function

These scientists say that the Earth is more resistant to climate changes on this scale than we think. Plants and animals will adapt to subtle shifts in weather patterns, and it is unlikely anything catastrophic will happen as a result of global warming. Slightly longer growing seasons, changes in precipitation levels and stronger weather, in their opinion, are not generally disastrous. They also argue that the economic damage caused by cutting down on the emission of greenhouse gases will be far more damaging to humans than any of the effects of global warming.

Draft of Israel and Gaza Strip

Hello Nicolas, we are here in the city of Tel-Aviv, Israel, inside the conflict between Israel and the Arabic world, to be more specific in the Gaza Strip.
The day 4 of August an Israeli air force missile struck near the entrance of a United Nations school sheltering displaced Palestinians in Rafha, killing 10 people and wounding 35 others. The general Ban ki-moon said that this is a moral outrage and a criminal. Some witnesses near the school shelter, said that those killed or hurt were waiting for food supllies when the missile hit.
The Israeli army siad that it had targeted with the missile three members of Islamic Jihadon a motorcycle near the school, not the school itself, and was investigating a possible secondary explosion when the motorcycle was hit.
The united nations office for the coordination of humanitarian affairs said that of the 1525 dead palestinians to that point, at least 1033 were civilians.
The day 9 of August Israeli and Palestinians negotiators accepted Egypt's call for a new 72-hour cease-fire, this will start at one minute after midnight Monday. The Egyptian foreing ministry said in a statement that the new, temporary cease fire was intended to facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza and the repair of essential infraestructur

E-petition mackay

The last year we had 8 hours of sports, but now we have 4 hours!.

The reason of this situation is that the sports hours were traspased to mathematics, lenguaje, english and tic. We need the sports for a better lifestyle because sports are important to have a healthy life and some disease have less probability to happen if you frecuently do sports.

Another important thing is that sports are a fun activity to use your time, is a recreative time, a healthy and fun to use your time.

In resume sports is very important and you need it in your life, for your health. That is the reason of this e-petition because I'm worried for me and for mi classmates.

Letter of Protest

Bosques de Montemar 700
Con-Con

Brasil 735
Town hall
Valparaiso
12 of May, 2014

Dear Mrs. Zapata,

I am writing to protest against the new toll that the people have to pay to enter to this city because in all history of Valparaiso, never the people had to pay to enter to this city.

I am particulary concerned about a lot of people that live in Valparaiso and work in Viña del Mar or Con-Con have to pay a new toll of 500 hundred pesos. They will lose earns. I imagine a maid that earns $220.000 in a month, with this new toll of $500 if she works 20 days  the money  that she had to pay is $10.000 and her earns in a month with the toll are $210.000 and in the year with the toll she earns $2.520.000 but in a year with out the toll she earns $2.640.000 in conclusion with the toll she lost $120.000.
In addition, the tourists come to visit to 5th region, will prefer other cities like Quintero, Limache, Quillota and Reñaca. I think this toll will affect  the tourism because the other cities are free of toll and they will preffer the other cities.

It is for these reasons that I think the toll should not be aproved because it affects the people that live in Valparaiso abd the tourism of this city.
I look forward to your reply,
Best regards
Ignacio Herrera
